Wrecked

In a moment, without any warning at all, something can happen, and out of nowhere you are wrecked.  Completely shattered.

I had one of those moments last week.  It turned my world upside down.  The problem with this moment is the fact that it not only involved me, but someone I love with my entire heart.  It’s one of those personal wreckings that happens to people from time to time.  One where you fear someone you love might be in trouble, and it shakes you to your core.  The problem is that it’s so very personal you can’t really share it with anyone.  I mean you can share it with Jesus, and I know He is the one we should share all our troubles with anyway, but this particular moment, well I feel like it was a doozy even for my all knowing, all loving Father.  I mean I KNOW He can handle it and I know NOTHING is too big for him, but still I sat there completely lost.  And here’s the thing, everyone I run into for the next little while will have no idea that my heart has been completely crushed, because I can’t share this without causing pain to someone I hold very dear.

So why am I telling you all this?  Because I feel sure that this happens so much more than we know.  We are all little humans, living in a world full of very real fears, deep saddness and sometimes just pure evil, and that kind of heavy can be more than we are able to handle alone.  So as I sit here this morning with the weight of the world on my shoulders, I send out a big request: please, please be kind to people.  ALL people.  You just never know what their day may have held.  Smile and hug and listen and love.  It’s really important guys! Let’s do this!

Colossians 3:12-15  Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you.  Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.  Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.  And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts.  For as members of one body you are called to live in peace.  And always be thankful.

Jesus Knows Me This I Love!

The Lord directs the steps of those who love him.  He delights in every detail of their lives.  Psalm 37:23

Well, good morning world : ) I thought I might try my hand at writing again today, just for a moment or two to see what happens.  I think I have a desire to write/blog, but I am not sure why or where it’s coming from.  I have tried it several times, but my follow through, well, never follows through.

I’ve just come back from a really nice power walk that I didn’t really want to take, only to feel completely refreshed. It’s funny how that works.  I have to share a picture with you because to me it spoke volumes…

This tiny cross spoke to me the very sweet love of my Savior.  To you it may seem like a couple of over lapped sticks fallen from a storm, but to me it was a perfectly placed reminder from a God who sees me and knows me.  A reminder that in Him I can do hard things, new things, all things!

If you don’t know God or you haven’t thought of him in awhile, I challenge you today to ask the beautiful creator of this universe to open your eyes to see clearly all that he would show you!  He is right there, bent to listen and eager to love.
