I have the heaviest heart this morning. Yesterday was even worse, but today, as I went to Hebrews 2, and began to read, God began to take me all over His Word to remind me that our hope is found in Him. I know so many families personally, who are going through some of the hardest things they will ever have to face. Heartbreak no one should have to endure. I don’t pretend to understand just how hard it must be, but my heart is heavy for them this morning. I am so very thankful for the faithfulness of the Father I have seen in my life, and I believe with all of my heart that He will take them through these times as He has taken me through mine. I am praying this morning that they will feel His presence like never before. I am praying and asking the Father to use me and others to surround these families with His love, His Peace and His hope. Show us Father, real ways that we can help.
I want to share with you now all the verses He took me to this morning. I share them with you because I believe that His truth can bring healing like nothing else. I know it has for me.
Let me first share this reminder and one of my very favorite verses from John 1:14…
“So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only son.”
** Jesus came to earth, God in flesh, to live and show us love in a real and tangible way. He is with us. He suffered, greatly, that in His suffering we could know him. He fully knows what we are going through and he is with us. With his resurrection, he conquered death so that in him we could live forever. In our suffering we can cling tightly to this hope! ♥️
In Hebrews 10:23 it says this…
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”
** Jesus is our hope!
And then in Hebrews 2:14…
“Because God’s children are human beings-made of flesh and blood-the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.”
**Jesus gives us the power to be free! He bought our freedom with His very life!
The Word also says in Hebrews 12:1&2 (these are some of my very favorites too)…
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.”
And one more, Hebrews 7:25…
“Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.”
** Jesus knows your story, your whole story. He is for you, he is with you and he loves you! He is seated at the right hand of the Father where he, himself, makes intercession for you!
In all of this reading I was reminded that our story fits into HIStory. Our story is full of twists and turns, heartache and joy, suffering and peace, but I believe with all that I am that He can and will use all of it for our good and His glory (Roman’s 8:28). My heart is still heavy for the loss of those suffering in this moment, but my prayer is that they will be filled to overflowing with the presence of the one who loves them so. Jesus your Word says that our help comes from you, the maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2). Father please be with all those who are desperately hurting this morning and need your help; there are so many. In all the uncertainty and fear that will come their way I pray they will seek you and find you faithful. You promise in Jeremiah 29:13 and Matthew 7:7 and James 4:8 that when we seek you we will find you, when we draw close to you, you will draw close to us. Father thank you that I can trust you to hear my prayers this morning and hear their prayers this morning. Father give them the courage to reach out to you and in doing so find the most faithful love they will ever know ♥️
